October

Time for another update! October was filled with fun, excitement, and beauty. It has been so magical for us being in a new place and watching the seasons change. Jillian and I have never seen the changing of the leaves and loved driving by the mountains admiring all the colors. Green, orange, red, yellow, and purple! There were more colors then I had thought there would be. Beautiful.

In the beginning of the month we decided to pick up some pumpkins at our town pumpkin patch. The Alos joined us. Jillian had a blast running through the patch with Keanae picking trying to pick out the perfect pumpkin. They were all giggles until Jiliian tripped on a vine and fell into little thorns. Her hands were covered in splinters! Poor girl. We had no idea pumpkin patches coould be so dangerous. Her body eventually pushed out all the splinters on its own. Hopefully next year will be better...

We love to go exploring on the weekends. We took a drive up to snowbird to see some snow. Kyle helped Jillian make her first snowman. He was such a good sport, his hands were ice cold after!

I have been dying with anticipation for Jillian to turn three so she could start ballet. The first week sshe was a little confused, why couldn't Mommy dance too? It took three weeks for her to figure it out, and now it is the highlight of her week. It's the highlight of my week too! I love peeking through the window to watch. Most of the other moms take off, but not me. I love to sneek peeks! The girls are so adoreable. Jillian now prances on her toes in the house and says cute little phrases like "cutie pie". Just like her teacher Miss Kristina.

Our yard changed so fast. Here Jillian is enjoying the yellow walnut trees.

Aunt Aly also had a birthday on the fourth. It was the first time in a long time that I was able to celebrate with her. Happy birthday Aunt Alyson!

Goodbye October. It was so nice enjoying your beauty!

our house

Here is a little sample of our place. I thought we should show you the backyard first. We love it and hope you do too. Come visit!

We have so many different kinds of veggies, fruits and nuts!
There are about four apple trees, plum trees, pear trees, cherry trees, blackberries, tomatoes, squash, hazelnuts, walnuts, grapes everywhere and so much more!

Moving

Our moving process was interesting. We left for Utah early on August 30th. We were all piled into the moving truck with our car being towed behind. We were making decent time and were thrilled with how well the truck drove. Maybe an hour after stopping for breakfast, I woke up knowing something was not right. The truck stopped accelerating. Crap. So there we were stranded in the middle of the desert (120 degrees!) with all our stuff.

To make an incredibly long story short, we took our car off the trailer, left our stuff, and headed up the rest of the way to my dad's house. We eventually got our stuff. It was not pretty...

We stayed at my dad's house for a few weeks until we found a place. We have now settled into a cute little house with a HUGE yard. We love it! All except our nice but invasive landlord...

House Arrest

Our new place has a few little quirks...

One of which is that the doors leading to the outside have to be opened (when locked) with a key not only on the outside, but inside as well. So if you don't have a key you aren't getting in, or out...

Today I am locked in.

I tried to take out the trash this morning when I noticed. Immediately I went to grab the keys which are always on the kitchen counter. Hmmm, no keys...
After tearing my place apart I have concluded that Kyle must have them. Having no car is one thing, but having no car and being locked in your house all day is suffocating. Not to mention the Relief Society presidency was coming by to introduce themselves and "get to know me".

I called about 45 min before they were supposed to arrive and only got a home phone answering machine. I left a message. Did she get the message? No.
Forty-five minutes later I could see about four women and a little girl walk up to my stairs and knock. All I could think about was how embarrassing this was going to be when I had to tell them, I'm sorry I can't open my front door. We have a little window I could see them through on the door. I stood in front of the window and began to speak to get their attention because they were all turned away laughing and chatting with each other. When they finally saw, not heard, me I realized that our door must be pretty thick because I was shouting and it wasn't doing much. Here's how our conversation went.

Me: Hi
Hi!
HI! Can you here me?!
Them: Oh hi! What?
Me: Can you here me at all?!
Them:
Me: CAN YOU HERE ME?!
Them: not really... kind of...
Me: I CAN"T OPEN THE DOOR!
Them: What?
Me: I'M LOCKED IN MY HOUSE! I CAN'T OPEN MY DOOR! I CAN'T LET YOU INSIDE!
Them: What? Are you sick?
Me: NO, NO, NO! I JUST CAN'T OPEN MY DOOR. MY LOCK IS WEIRD AND I NEED A KEY TO OPEN IT ON THE INSIDE. I DON'T HAVE MY KEY!
Them: What? Are you okay?
Me: YES! I'M SO SORRY! I CAN'T LET YOU INSIDE!

They eventually understood and informed me that we should change that. Yes, I know... We will be trying again next week. I'm pretty sure they think I'm a little nutty, but hey better they find out sooner than later, right? I'm just not sure I wanted it as the first impression. Better luck next week.

Jenna's hitched

One of my besties from early childhood got married August 15th. It was such an honor to be a part of their special day. You can tell that they absolutely adore each other. They were sealed for all time and eternity in the San Diego temple. The day was so beautiful, and Jenna has never looked prettier. I am so excited for her and very proud. May they live happily ever after.

Linda Harmon took the beautiful photos!

p.s.
We also had a scandalous time at the bachette party!

Three!

For Jillian's third birthday she and I headed down to Sea World. Places like that are beginning to be magical with her. She can see all the animals and enjoy the shows. All of the shows except the Sesame Street show because last time we had a bad experience and decided it is just "too scary".
We had a great time despite the bad weather. Bad weather? You may ask...
Yes, it actually started raining a bit. It took us a minute to realize it was rain and not the dolphins spraying us.

I felt so bad for being so busy and not planning Jillian a birthday party. Last minute I called up a couple of her friends' moms and asked if they would like to join us at McD's. I know, I am so ghetto. But Jillian has never been and absolutley LOVED the playplace. I am glad she enjoyed her "party". Thank you to the friends who came!

Our Trip to Utah

One month ago we decided to take a weekend trip up to Utah to visit my fam! Kyle had been looking for jobs because his contract at SDG&E was almost up. He was applying in San Diego and Utah to keep all our options open because of the bad economy. I just had this crazy feeling that we should make it up for the weekend. We had a great time fishing, hiking, hangin with the fam, and we even made it to a show and children's museum...

The day of the night we were planning on heading back, Kyle responded to a job that had been posted that morning. Within 15 minutes of responding, he had an interview the next day (his birthday). Kyle was immediately hired on and told to start Monday! We drove home and Kyle stayed for a wedding, then flew off to Utah. I stayed back and packed up our belongings for the following two weeks. Our last month has been crazy!
Did I mention that the job is with Juniper Networks and is totally awesome?!

Happy birthday babe!
