Singing Daddy to sleep...

Happy Birthday Uncle Kirk!

Uncle Kirk turns 28 today! We are so thrilled to be able to celebrate with him tonight! Happy Birthday Big Bro!

Bambi

Jillian is getting older and loves watching videos. Since we are the over paranoid first time parents that everyone hates, we have chosen not to have cable and monitor and limit what she watches. We thought it would be fun to have a movie night. Last Saturday we made popcorn, pizza, and some other goodies to have the ultimate movie night. We watched one of the classics, Bambi! Jillian had a blast. She gets so wrapped up in all of it. It is magical to watch her take it all in and feel like part of the story. (Don't worry, we fast forwarded the scary stuff:)

The Bright Side of Rain

The upside to having rain is that we get to enjoy indoor activities. Jen Clark invited some moms and kids to come over to her home. I have never been over to Jen's, but knowing her I new it would be cute. It was adorable! We had so much fun. Us mommies were able to tap into our artsy sides while the rugrats ran wild.

Jen is so creative. She was kind enough to teach us all how to make fun hair clips for our girls.

We had way too much fun :) Next time though, we're gettin' pizza!

Imaginary Baby

Yesterday in church Jillian ran into nursery with friends and I didn't realize that she had her baby doll with her. When we went to the car to go home she started crying about leaving her baby. I assumed I had it in my purse. When I realized I was wrong, we went back inside only to find out that it had been locked up with all the other toys and the women with the key had left. Jillian's bottom lip began to do its trembling pout and her eyes filled with tears.
"But Mom, my baby has to go to sleep in her bed."
Jillian LOVES this baby doll. She will not play with any other. She brushes its nonexistent hair. Reads the baby stories and sings her songs before she goes to bed. Jillian pushes her in the stroller, wraps her in her blanket, tickles her, etc. The baby doll does everything with her! My heart nearly broke when I saw Jillian's face as she realized we could not bring baby home with us. As the day went on I thought Jillian would perhaps begin to play with another baby doll. No. Instead my daughter now has an imaginary baby doll. Didn't see that one coming. It is really quite funny.
I can't wait until Sunday when I can witness them reuniting!
