Unique New York, Unique New York...

Kyle's Nana turned 80 this year and his Aunt Audrey threw a part for her. We were so excited to be able to celebrate with everyone! Jillian and I flew out the Friday morning before, and Kyle took a red eye that night so he could still work that day. What a MAN!
Jillian loves, loves, LOVES airplanes. We occupied our time before hand by watching the planes take of and land.
Leaving San Diego! Up, Up, and Away..

Arriving in New York!

DAY 1:

We stayed in the city on Saturday and cheered Brian on at his bike race. The race was held at Columbia University. What a beautiful campus!

We had an awesome time. We took the subway to Columbia, it was Jillian's first train ride. As you can tell she was excited. We met Laura and her mother there too. Jillian was shy at first, but by the end she was very attached to Laura's mother. After the race Kyle, being the monkey that he is, decided to climb a tree I told him he would not be able to. Silly boyz! He actually would tell kids when he was younger he could climb so well because he had monkey blood. We grabbed some yummy hot chocolate afterwards at the Kitchenette. Not long after we were hungry for dinner and ate some of the best Italian food at Fiorello's. I love their lasagna!

DAY 2:

Partay! We had a blast at Aunt Aud's celebrating Nana's birthday! It was like a family reunion. There were songs, laughs, tears, the works! Happy 80th Nana! Thanks for being the special gal you have become. We love you!

Day 3:

We spent our last day on Long Island at Kyle's grandparent's house, the house that Diane grew up in. The have been there since the sixties! We went out to lunch with Aunt Aud and Ali, then headed over to feed the ducks, sea gulls, geese, swans, etc. They were crazy! The swans were hissing at me and the geese were trying to attack. Trying to stay save, we hid out in the gazebo and fed them from there! Jillian had so much fun our last night hangin' with Grandpa Manny and Nana Yetta. They watched movies and read stories. Jillian would follow them all around the house. They definitely bonded.

Day 4:

Homeward bound! Bye Bye New York. Thanks for being so good to us! And a special thanks to Nana Yetta, Grandpa Manny, Aunt Aud, Uncle Jeff, and Nana for making it all happen!

You wouldn't believe who I ran into before boarding our flight...

My favorite New Yorker! Ever need your hair done? She's your gal! Thanks for keeping us beautiful Leslie!

  1. Merrily, I was updating my blog and I was so happy to see that you had a new post. . . the pictures are great (especially the first one of Jillian at the airport).

My mom could not stop talking about how beautiful and smart you are! I think she and Diane are right about the modeling thing :)
